A systematic study on α-decay chains of superheavy nuclei, Z = 126 & 138

Abstract: The [Formula: see text]-decay chain of [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] is studied using cubic plus proximity potential with improved transfer matrix (CPP-ITM) model. The nuclear mass models DD-PC1, WS4, WS3.3 are employed to evaluate the [Formula: see text]-decay energies. Thus calculated [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives and decay chain lengths are found to be in good agreement with other theoretical formalisms. The spontaneous fission (SF) half-lives are calculated using the formalism of Xu et… Show more

“…In this study, we used our Cubic plus Yukawa plus Exponential Model in a two-sphere approximation (WOD), to determine the alpha decay half lifetimes, cluster decay and spontaneous fission for various isotopes of Superheavy nuclei. The results are compared with the (CPP-ITM) model of G. Naveya et al, [25,26] 28] the Royer Analytical Formula [10] and the Viola-Seaborg Semiempirical Formula (VSS) [29], (CPPM) model of K.P. Santhosh et al, [30], (UNIV) D.N.…”

“…In this work, using CYE model we have tried to study the half-lives for the predicted SHN 298,310 114, 306,318 122, 308,310 124 and 310,322 126 during the cluster emission such as 4 He, 9 Be, 11 B, 12 C, 14 N, 16 O, 19 F, 20 Ne, 23 Na, 24 Mg, 27 Al, 28 Si, 31 P, 34 S, 35 Cl, 40 Ar, 39 K and 40 Ca. The results of our study have been compared with those of available theoretical values [28][29][30][31][32] and are tabulated in Table 1. Using the mass excess values available in References [33][34][35], we have calculated the Q-values for different decay modes.…”
