“…The calculated results of elastic scattering angular distributions from our global optical potential for 12 C, 28 Si, 40 Ca, 56 Fe, 58 Ni, 64 Zn, 90 Zr, 118,120 Sn, and 208 Pb are compared with experimental data [26,27] at incident deuteron energy about 30.0 MeV. The present calculated results are in good agreement with experimental data, except for 12 C and 40 Ca, where the shapes of present calculated results curve are similar to those of experimental data, but the magnitudes are smaller than those of experimental data for angle larger 50.0 • .…”

“…To extract tensor potentials from a best fit we demanded therefore as a first step a good reproduction of cr(0) and i T11(O) by the adjustment of the central and spin orbit parameters. The fits started from global sets for the central and spin orbit terms as given by Lohr and Haeberli [26], Perrin et al [8] and Daehnick et al [27]. Including an imaginary term (with Thomas shape) for the spin orbit potential the parameters of the central and spin orbit terms have been varied until a good reproduction of a(0) and i T12(O) for the individual nuclei was obtained.…”

“…There the experimentally observed D-state effects are very small in the case of heavy target nuclei because of the influence of the Coulomb barrier; for the light nuclei they are obscured due to the presence of compound nuclear fluctuations. For technical reasons systematic experiments with tensor polarized beams at cyclotrons (E~=12MeV [7], 30MeV [8], 56MeV [91) have been restricted to the determination of T2o(0) and 7)2(0). These tensor analyzing powers, however, have large contributions originating from the spin orbit potential, which may be overcome only by a specific linear combination of T20(0) and T22(0) [8,10].…”

“…Inelastic excitation of the 4.44 MeV 2 + 1 and 9.64 MeV 3 − 1 states of 12 C was included as well as the 12 C(d,p) 13 C stripping reaction leading to the 9.50 MeV 9/2 + 1 state. The entrance channel optical potential was based on the global parameters of Daehnick et al [4] with the real and imaginary well depths adjusted to obtain the best fit to the elastic scattering data of Perrin et al [5] when the inelastic couplings were included. The B(E2; 0 + → 2 + ) and B(E3; 0 + → 3 − ) were taken from Refs.…”
