Mobile learning, or m-Learning, has grown in popularity significantly over the last few decades, as evidence of educators and students worldwide using the device as a teaching and learning tool continues to accumulate. The pattern of mobile-learning research from 2001 to 2020 is determined by bibliometric analysis. The study retrieved 3,874 documents for further analysis, based on the keywords associated with mobile learning in the article’s title. The maps depicted the connections between the researchers, countries, all keywords, titles, and abstracts. The title and abstract of this study are used to visualise the co-occurring terms of various phases or concepts associated with mobile learning that were extracted from the Scopus database. The findings indicate strong and direct connections between the concepts in e-learning, implying a significant and direct research connection. China was the leading country in mobile-learning research, and the leading journal was Computers and Education. The top author’s keywords in terms of co-occurrence were "mobile learning", "e-learning", "students", "learning systems", and "m-learning". To conduct a two-decade analysis, this study excludes any publications from the years 1984 and 2021. These critical analyses of prior work are valuable and indispensable resources for mobile-learning scholars and practitioners. It is believed that online-learning applications have increased students’ engagement; and it has eliminated the accessibility gap. Consequently, mobile learning is expected to maintain its popularity over the next few decades.

Se plantean los pasos a seguir para realizar un mapeo científico sobre un tema de investigación utilizando herramientas que permitan identificar diferentes relaciones y análisis entre artículos, tomando como caso de estudio el tema de enfermedades infecciosas bovinas. La metodología utilizada se basa en seis pasos que van desde la recuperación de información por medio de la revisión sistemática de literatura hasta la visualización de los resultados por medio de la herramienta de análisis de mapas científicos SciMAT, empleando principalmente las palabras clave, el índice H y la ocurrencia de los términos en el texto. Se encuentra como resultado que los estudios sobre enfermedades infecciosas bovinas se han centrado en subtemas como brotes de la enfermedad, tratamientos utilizados, modelos de prevención y análisis de muestras de laboratorio. Por otro lado, se denota que hace falta realizar estudios sobre el uso de herramientas informáticas o el desarrollo de aplicaciones que utilicen técnicas modernas como inteligencia artificial y machine learning como apoyo al análisis, el control y la erradicación de enfermedades infecciosas bovinas.

The education system evolves and transforms towards interactive and immersive learning tools in this digital age. Augmented reality has also evolved as a ubiquitous, robust, and effective technology for providing innovative educational tools. In engineering education, many abstract concepts require technological intervention for conceptual understanding and better instructional content. While learning through the immersive tools, system usability has great importance in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction. Effectiveness refers to users' accuracy and completeness in achieving defined goals; efficiency relates to expended resources about the precision and completeness with which users achieve their objectives; satisfaction deals with a positive attitude towards using the product. If the system fails to provide good usability, it may cause adverse effects such as increasing stress, lacking necessary features, increasing the users' cognitive load, and negatively impacting the student's motivation. In this study, two mobile augmented reality (MAR) applications were developed as an instructional tool to teach the students about Karnaugh maps in the digital electronics course. The first application is a Keypad-based MAR application that uses a keypad matrix for user interaction and the second application is a Marker-based MAR application that uses multiple markers to solve K-Map for producing an optimum solution of the given problem. An experimental study was conducted to determine the student's opinion of the developed MAR applications. The study was designed to determine the system usability of the two MAR applications using the System Usability Score (SUS) and Handheld Augmented Reality Usability Score (HARUS) models. 90 engineering students participated in the study, and they were randomly divided into two different groups: keypad-based group and Marker-based group. The keypad-based group included 47 students who had hands-on experience with a keypad-based MAR application, whereas the marker-based group included 43 students who had hands-on experience with multiple marker-based MAR applications. The experimental outcomes indicated that the keypad-based MAR application has better SUS and HARUS scores than the marker-based MAR application which suggests that the keypad-based MAR application has provided better user interaction.
