A Systematic Literature Review. Relationships between the Sharing Economy, Sustainability and Sustainable Development Goals

Abstract: The sharing economy is an umbrella term for different business models that seem to have a positive impact on sustainability. To achieve sustainable development, the UN has created 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as an instrument and guide for countries and individuals. This paper sheds light on the relationships between the sharing economy, sustainability and SDGs through the content analysis of 74 papers from the database Web of Science that consider these factors through the topics of the environment… Show more

“…We did not impose time limitations on the academic material, as the research on the topic is already scant and such a limitation would have further reduced the academic literature to be used. Our research provides relevant information that can be structured in terms of papers by journal and database, including the number of academic papers published, taking into account the years of publication and the academic fields; the main countries in terms of the research; and the cited references, which have been considered by several recent studies [48][49][50].…”

“…A systematic review seeks to systematically search for, appraise and synthesize research evidence and findings. The synthesis is typically a narrative and the analyses may be chronological, conceptual and thematic [31,32]. This qualitative research method is of an exploratory nature, making it possible to get to know the studied area in detail, as well as to explore and compare previous research results and their circumstances.…”

“…The major international literature and databases related to the topic were reviewed and evaluated. Based on Boar et al [32], the methodology used in our paper is summarized in Table 1. Relevant and up-to-date literature sources were collected using mainly Google Scholar, Web of Science and Scopus, while some data related to the egg sector were extracted from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and European Commission (EC) databases.…”

“…The equal-area department problem is usually addressed using discrete optimization models to optimally assign n departments to a set of n predefined locations [67]. Conversely, in the unequal-area layout problem, continuous mathematical models are preferred [28,37,48]. Approximately, 64% of the revised literature considered equal-area departments, and the remaining 36% chose the unequal-area approach.…”

“…Furthermore, since 2012, to the authors' knowledge, there has not been published any other literature review focused on DFLP [24]. By considering all this, as well as the growing trend in literature review studies on SSCM combined with different related topics [12][13][14][15][25][26][27][28], this article presents an overview of the DFLP literature and its contribution to sustainability in supply chain management from the triple bottom line perspective in the last 10 years (2010-2019).…”
