A symptom-limited incremental step test determines maximum physiological responses in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract: A symptom-limited incremental step test, externally paced, elicits maximal cardiopulmonary and metabolic responses, and is well tolerated and reproducible in patients with COPD.
