“…The three absorption bands were observed at 1360, 855, and 673 cm −1 , which could be ascribed to the asymmetric and symmetric stretch of interlayer carbonates [48,49]. The characteristic bands observed at 983, 780, 554, and 449 cm −1 were attributed to the translation, deformation, and vibration modes of the metal hydroxide sheets, respectively [46,[49][50][51][52]. The spectrum indicated that the OH stretch in pristine lutein pigments appeared at 3421 cm −1 .…”

“…Lutein was recrystallized with mixed solvent of tetrahydrofuran and water (v/v, 1:4) to raise the purity to 95% (HPLC analysis). The synthesis of Mg-Al-Fe LDH is conducted according to the methodology described by Dong et al [50], and the main chemical compositions of LDH included Al 2 O 3 15.37%, Na 2 O 3.34%, CaO 6.98%, MgO 35.23% and Fe 2 O 3 10.85%. Typically, 4 g of palygorskite (Dimaitong mine located in Linze county of Gansu Province of China) with a 200-mesh sieve was mixed with 80 mL of 1 mol/L sulfuric acid and stirred to form a homogeneous dispersion. The above dispersion was transferred into the reaction kettleafter being ultrasonically treated for 30 min, and then the mixture was hydrothermally treated at 180 • C for 12 h to collect liquid.…”

“…25,26 ATP also has a special crystal structure, stacking mode and nanometric dimension, which endows it with plentiful pores, higher aspect ratio, better ion-exchange capacity and affluent surface group, and enables it to be a candidate to fabricate various biological scaffolds. 25,[27][28][29][30] Furthermore, ATP possesses special nanoscale structure and microporeforming capability, which indicates that ATP is suitable for osteoblast ingrowth and neovascularization. 31,32 ATP nanorods could form colloidal network structure with high viscosity due to the interaction among rods, and also form physical entanglement with other polymer chains to form stable blend.…”

“…Attapulgite (ATP), also known as palygorskite, is a crystalline hydrated magnesium aluminum silicate mineral with a nanofiber‐like structure 13,14 . It has a large surface area, moderate cation exchange capacity, and a large number of Si‐OH groups on its surface, thus exhibiting excellent reactivity in dealcoholization of methoxy or active silanol groups (Si–OH, alkoxysilane is hydrolyzed to generate active silanol intermediates) in alkoxysilane 15,16 . For instance, Zhou et al 17 designed polyamidoamine dendrimer‐functionalized palygorskite (Pal‐PAMAM) to remove Pb 2+ and Reactive Red 3BS dyes.…”
