A survey regarding freshmen learning mathematics

Abstract

In order to enable university freshmen to better master the subject of mathematics and to adapt to the campus life as soon as possible, the author conducted a survey of the 2013 freshmen of the North University of China on mathematical learning, mainly presenting their conditions of mathematics at high school and analyzing their views and requirements towards it. By the statistics and analysis of collected questionnaire, the author not only put forward a number of means to tackle the problems, but also pointed out the need for improvement in some places of the existing instructional design, aimed at improving students' capacity at mathematics learning.
