The technology is growing faster in day to day life, and this technology is going to play a vital role in the lives of a human being. Almost all the people will use the gas-related items in their homes like the kitchen and other usages. The leaks for such gas leakages are a common problem, and due to this leakage, the severe health issues and other life death issues also can take place. Hence, the identification of such gas leakages is essential at the right interval of times. Having the learning essential to have the capacity to counteract and recognize a gas release right off the bat is critical with the end goal to avert potential gaseous petrol crises. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are gaining popularity due to their low cost and ease of maintenance and management. One of the most challenging issues in WSN is energy conservation. The clustering strategy has the potential to extend the lifespan of WSNs. The selection of Cluster Head (CH) in each cluster is regarded as the capable approach for energy efficient routing in the clustering model, which reduces the transmission latency in the WSN. As a result, the routing method between nodes and sinks must take into account the efficient use of energy. In Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), direct data connection from source cluster head to sink is addressed, leading to inequitable energy consumption of cluster heads CHs and network routing gaps. In this paper, the conceptual framework of clustering in wireless sensor networks based on traditional and optimization categories is explored. In addition, the most relevant up-to-date researches in routing protocols are presented. The study presents a new taxonomy for categorizing current hierarchical energy efficiency routing protocols for WSNs and examines their functionality and performance. Next, the study examines current routing protocols in WSNs, ranging from traditional routing protocols to swarm intelligence-based protocols. LEACH variations are discussed using a taxonomy based on distinct classes, residual energy, centralization, distance, mobility, energy efficiency, and so on. The CH selection, hop count, mobility, scalability, energy efficiency, topology, and deployment are all compared in detail. Finally, Energy efficiency, data aggregation, location awareness, QoS, scalability, load balancing, fault tolerance, query based, and multipath are summarized for the hierarchical routing protocols that fall into both classes.

In order to solve the problem of hot spot caused by uneven energy consumption of nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and reduce the network energy consumption, a novel cluster routing algorithm called CRPL for ring based wireless sensor networks using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Lion Swarm Optimization (LSO) is proposed in this paper. In CRPL, the optimal cluster head (CH) of each ring are selected by using LSO whose fitness function is composed of energy,number of neighbor nodes, number of cluster heads and distance. Moreover, PSO with a multi-objective fitness function considering distance, energy and cluster size is used to find the next hop relay node in the process of data transmission, and the optimal routing paths are obtained, so as to alleviate the hot spot problem as well as decrease the energy consumption in the routing process. The simulation results show that, compared with some existing optimization algorithms, CRPL has better effects in balancing the energy consumption of the network and prolonging the life cycle of the network.
