Due to the limited power of sensor nodes of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), routing in WSN becomes a hot topic for researchers to provide us several routing protocols for achieving minimum usage of power. Cluster size has a great effect on saving energy and enhancing the network lifetime in Cluster-Based Routing Protocols (CBRP). Energy consumption is increased either when the cluster is very large or very small. Therefore, optimum cluster size must be determined to enhance the Cluster-Based Routing Protocols performance. In this paper, authors will provide a mathematical analysis to calculate the optimum cluster size which is not clarified until now. On the basis of optimum cluster size, Balanced Energy Efficient Grid based Clustering protocol (BEEG) will be introduced. MATLAB will be used for evaluating the performance of our protocol. Simulation results show that proposed BEEG enhances the network lifetime and throughput more than other protocols such as LEACH, DCHS, K-LEACH, MOD-LEACH and Energy-LEACH.

Abstract-In this paper, regarding the complexity of polluted water, through analyzing the water environment and its surrounding factors, a water quality monitoring system architecture based on wireless sensor networks is proposed. Firstly, the water quality parameters collected by the sensor are processed by the signal conditioning circuit and then transmitted to the sensor nodes so as to realize the data acquisition of the water quality parameters. Afterwards, through the function analysis of each node in the ZigBee network, the hardware design and software program design of the network coordinator node and the routing node are completed. After joint debugging of the hardware and software, point-to-point communication and system networking of the ZigBee network are achieved. Finally, the results of experiments show that the system can realize the data acquisition and wireless transmission of the temperature and PH parameters of different solutions. Furthermore, each node realizes its own function and meets the design requirements of the system. Abstract-In order to minimize the energy consumption involved by communications in wireless sensor networks, the use of clustering has proven to be effective. The problem remains to determine the number of clusterheads, and their distribution in the network to ensure minimal energy consumption and better coverage networks. Unlike Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy algorithm which fixes in advance the number of cluster-heads, and do not guarantee the coverage of the entire network, in this paper, we proposed a genetic centralized dynamic algorithm (GA)-based clustering approach to optimize the clustering configuration (the number of cluster-heads, their distribution and the cluster-members) to limit node energy consumption and the best coverage. The obtained simulation results show that the proposed technique overcomes the Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy algorithm.
