Regression testing is considered as a separate forms of testing attached with performance testing where tester runs old test suits after each change made to system. It will be a big problem in testing the service-oriented software (SOS), where each system component is inherently agile and changes its behavior dynamically. These agile component gives a big rise to big problem in the regression testing process with respect to complexity, time complexity and cost complexity. A service-oriented software may change in case of bug fixing, adaptation of new environment, upgrading or updating functionality in order to improve performance or it is demanded by customer. After the software is delivered to customer the service oriented software must be regressed to validate that there is no defects. We present a hierarchical regression test selection algorithm for service-oriented software, and evaluate it in service-oriented environment along with results.

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) removed the gap between software and business. Today, there is a business transformation among enterprises and they adopt a service based information technology (IT) model. So, testing is necessary for SOA based applications. This paper investigates different type of approaches and techniques that address the testing problems of SOA based services. Here we also investigate the differences between SOA and web services and traditional testing and SOA testing. Various testing levels are also discussed in detail. This paper also expresses various testing perspectives, challenges of SOA testing and review the many testing approaches and identify the problems that improve the testability of SOA based services.

Abstract-This paper presents some observations on Dependency Analysis of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based systems. In general, dependency analysis is based on the internal properties of artifacts (objects/components/services) and inter-relationship between the artifacts in the system. In order to make a dependency analysis for SOA based systems, one have to consider the special features of SOA that make them different with other approaches. This paper surveys the previous works taken on dependency analysis of service oriented systems. The present work provides insights about definitions related to service dependency, the modeling and analysis techniques of service dependency analysis, failure results to service dependence and some research challenges of the topic.The contribution of this paper is for novice researchers working on this topic as they can get an overview of dependency analysis of SOA based systems for their further research.
