At present, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is fastest growing technology which extensively adopting for various application services including; weather monitoring, traffic prediction, surveillance, research and academic fields etc. As the sensor nodes are randomly deployed in wireless environment, security metrics becomes most promising challenge where communication wirelesses networks facing today. In WSNs, sensor nodes acquires various security concern i.e. vulnerabilities, threats and malicious attacks. Due to the limited resource constraints like bandwidth demand, limited memory, computational cost and minimum energy consumption of sensor nodes makes the network security protocols unachievable. In this context, this comprehensive study provides extensive review of WSNs, various challenges mainly related to security attacks and their solution strategies to strengthen the network performance. The significant contribution of this survey study is to provide the comprehensive report on standard secure routing schemes introduced in the literature and pertaining them to secure and non-secure routing protocols for strengthening the WSNs lifetime. Furthermore, the study considers the most frequently used security protocols published between 2010 to 2019, and investigates the major issues towards the security provisions in WSN, which may help for designing a futuristic routing protocol for any WSNs.

In order to achieve a multi-path routing algorithm with time delay and energy consumption balance to alleviate the energy holes around a sink, a multimedia independent multipath routing algorithm for internet of things (IoT) based on node hidden communication model is proposed in this paper. On the premise of satisfying the application delay, a multi-source multi-path routing algorithm is proposed by using the idea of software definition and fitting multiple curves to form independent multi-path routing. Through a sink node centralized programming control source node routing, according to the priority of the source node, the dynamic angle of the source node can be allocated, which effectively reduces the energy consumption of the network. In addition, considering that the Internet of Things has more perceptive nodes, limited computing and storage capacity, frequent joining and exiting operations and other factors, a hidden communication model of nodes is designed for the IoT. It is helpful to improve the level of privacy protection in the IoT, and to effectively improve the ability of nodes to resist attacks in the IoT. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm avoids the interference between paths and various network attacks to the greatest extent, and the energy consumption is relatively low under the requirement of quality of service (QoS) delay.

Remote health monitoring has become a hot topic research due to its multi-dimensional benefits to the society. This paper is aimed at developing a novel remote health monitoring model through wireless sensor networks to ensure efficient telemedicine process. The proposed model, Real-time Remote Healthcare and Telemedicine (RRHT) utilizes the concept of model based design to provide low cost and time saving efficiency. First the low power consuming sensor nodes are placed at specified body points with facility to monitor and reduce the power consumption at each stage of the designed model. These nodes collect the patient data and transmit them in wireless medium through the gateway where the data are combined to form documents/notes. Autonomous optimized routing algorithm is employed at this stage for transmission through efficient wireless paths to the processor connected at the hospitals or health centers. At the processor, the transmitted patient data documents are clustered using ontology enabled clustering models using chicken swarm optimization (CSO) and genetic chicken swarm optimization (GCSO). The clustered results are comparatively analyzed with the previous patient database and to determine the change in health readings. Based on these findings, the suitable medication details along with advice on hospital visits are suggested by the decision module and are sent to the physicians or medical experts for approval and further diagnosis. The performance analysis shows that the proposed RRHT system with GCSO clustering is highly reliable and accurate with better speed and lower cost. These results also prove that the RRHT significantly improved the healthcare application through the utilization of better strategies in document clustering of patient data.
