A subjective and objective fuzzy-based analytical hierarchy process model for prioritization of lean product development practices

Abstract: In this paper, a subjective and objective fuzzy-based Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) model is proposed. The model which is based on a newly defined evaluation matrix replaces the fuzzy comparison matrix (FCM) in the traditional fuzzy AHP model, which has been found ineffective and time-consuming when criteria/alternatives are increased. The main advantage of the new model is that it is straightforward and completely eliminates the repetitive adjustment of data that is common with the FCM in traditional AHP… Show more

“…These indicators include subsets based on the scorecard approach. Modaka et al (2018) used an integrated BSC and AHP fuzzy approach (Aikhuele & Turan, 2017) for outsourcing decision making in Indian coal mines. Also, the same team in another paper used the combination of BSC and ANP to make outsourcing decisions in Indian coal mines (Modaka, et al, 2018).…”

“…The fuzzy AHP is unique for its ability to deal with fuzziness and vagueness of linguistic judgments by establishing an effective prioritization. The fuzzy AHP method was borne out of the inability of the AHP to deal with imprecision and subjectiveness in the pair-wise comparison process (Aikhuele & Turan, 2017a;Badizadeh & Khanmohammadi, 2011). The application of fuzzy AHP, allows complex multi-criteria decisions problems to be structured into hierarchical descending order from an overall objective to various criteria, sub-criteria and so on until the lowest level, where the decision alternatives or selection choices are laid down at the last level of the hierarchy.…”
