A maioria dos autores acima citados considerou Pavonia um gênero estenopolínico descrevendo os grãos de pólen, em geral, como grandes a muito grandes, polipantoaperturados, raramente polipantocolpoidorados, poros operculados, às vezes anulados, exina espinhosa, espinhos de formas e tamanhos variados.…”
