A Study on the Access to Local Places in the Environmental Design Process

Abstract: In recent years, many places have been set up to support lives of the inhabitants. We call these places "Machikado-no-Ibasyo", which means the place set up on a street corner. We carried out a lighting event at Shinsenri-Higashimach. Through analyzing the process of this event, this article aims to clarify the roles of the "Machikado-no-Ibasyo" for outsiders and to study how outsiders can access the local places.
