A Study on Improvement of Less Prosperous Index by Development Promotion Zone Projects

Abstract: The purpose of the study is to investigate the degree of improvement in less prosperous index as a result of development promotion zone projects, one of the most representative projects to develop the less prosperous regions in Korea since 1994. Comparing two less prosperous indices between 1995 and 2008, we performed cluster analysis using change values of ranks. Then, we analysed spatial pattern of clusters.
