A Study on Arrangement of Functions of First-Aid Medical Stations Based in Elementary School

Abstract: This research clarifies the idea of the architectural planning of the first-aid medical stations, which is expected to be prepared as a preparation for the most recent earthquake in the metropolitan area. In this paper, we apply a simulation to reproduce the behavior of patients in a hospital outpatient to elementary school.1) Based on the number of assumed medical staff, how far can the first-aid medical station correspond to the number of victims?2) What is the area required for each function?3) Are there ot… Show more

“…Similar to our previous report, 1 the simulation was performed using multi‐agent simulation software (T‐Hospital Path Simulator, owned by the authors) that reproduces and predicts outpatient behavior in the outpatient department of a hospital, and is created in advance as a virtual 3D model. It is assumed that the casualties in the virtual space will move according to the purpose of the study using programed behavior patterns (Reference Figure 1).…”

“…This study examines the ideal medical environment in the Tokyo metropolitan area for casualties who are expected to be affected by an earthquake disaster. In a previous report, 1 we clarified the issues and their countermeasures when opening a first aid medical station in an elementary school in an area like Shinjuku Ward. In the following report, we will discuss issues and possibilities related to medical activities at medical institutions in Tokyo, as well as the construction needed to support such activities.…”
