“…Bacteriological identification as shown in table (5) revealed that 27 (81.8 %) out of 33cattle showing visible lesions were identified as M. bovis. The recovery rate of M. bovis is near to the results that obtained by Tammemagi et al (1973) (89.1 %); Naglaa (2008) (70.59 %) and Rabab (2008) (80 %). Other investigators reported lower M. bovis recovery rate, Akeulah (1981) (32.7 %); Gallo et al (1983) (5.5 %).…”

“…It has been demonstrated that the pre-scapular lymph node receives afferent vessels from the skin enclosing the neck and shoulder and even muscles like the prescapular muscle (Henderson, 1946;Sisson and Grossman, 1938). These findings are consistent with those of other studies where it was also observed that lymph nodes are the organs in cattle most frequently affected by tuberculous lesions (Tammemagi et al,, 1974;Lepper and Pearson, 1973;Corner, 1994). It is significant to note that, macroscopic or visual inspection pre-culture revealed that a high number of lymph nodes harboured gross lesions that is, 115 lymph samples (or 74.2%) out of 155 samples.…”

“…From a total of 90 carcasses, 55 positive cultures were recovered with an isolation rate of 61.1 %. The obtained results were less than that mentioned by (Tammemagi, et al, 1973), 89.1 % and (Naglaa, 2008), 70.59 %. Other investigators reported lower M. bovis recovery rate, by (Adawy, 1986), 17.5 % and (Zschoc, et al, 1990), 1.6 %.…”
