A Study of Simulation of the Urban Space 3D Temperature Field at a Community Scale Based on High-Resolution Remote Sensing and CFD

Abstract: This study used high-resolution remote-sensing technology and CFD models to carry out a simulation study of a three-dimensional (3D) USTE for daytime and nighttime at a block scale. Firstly, the influence of vegetation with different spatial layouts on the 3D USTE was analyzed. Moreover, the heat transfer process and heat conduction process between urban surface components at the block scale were simulated, and in the meanwhile, the distribution and changes of the 3D USTE and the regional wind pressure environ… Show more

“…This paper mainly studies the temperature field of the inner surface of the furnace lining rather than the overall temperature field inside the furnace cavity. Therefore, the distributed hot-spot couple measurement method + COMSOL model simulation is used to complete the temperature field reconstruction, and the temperature field reconstruction algorithm is used for inversion to obtain the temperature field information of the inner surface of the furnace lining [2]. COMSOL software is being used in more and more industries due to its excellent simulation performance, multi-field simulation model selection, and other advantages.…”

“…Other approaches are based on combined heat and computational fluid dynamics numerical simulation methods, which means that surface temperatures are computed together with air temperatures and airflow on a volumetric grid, and have the advantage that UHIs can be retrieved with a higher confidence. Due to being highly computational, only small and restricted areas on the macro-level can be simulated (Ashie andKono, 2011, Huo andChen, 2022).…”

“…The CFD method allows to solve issues related to the flow, in particular it enables the simulations of vortices, flow detachment and even the heat transfer and turbulence models became available all at once. Examples of adaptation for this technique can be found in [1][2][3][4]. In the first two papers, the CFD method was applied to the calculation of bioreactor hydrodynamics [1], as well as to analyze interactions between the photovoltaic system and its environment [2].…”

“…In the first two papers, the CFD method was applied to the calculation of bioreactor hydrodynamics [1], as well as to analyze interactions between the photovoltaic system and its environment [2]. Furthermore, in [3], a CFD simulation was also used to determine the temperature field in an urban area and, in [4], to perform temperature and pressure field estimation in a dry scroll vacuum pump. There are a number of CFD method applications in the field of aerodynamics [5][6][7][8][9].…”
