A study of particles looseness in screening process of a linear vibrating screen

Abstract: We investigated the movement of particles in screening process over the sieve plate of a linear vibrating screen using the Discrete Element Method (DEM). The behavior of particles which is affected by a series of vibrational parameters including amplitude, frequency and vibration direction angle determining screening performance. This paper centers on particles looseness by analyzing the looseness coefficient and looseness rate. The relationships between the looseness coefficient, looseness rate and vibration … Show more

“…Therefore, the best three grey wolves (α β, and δ) in the current race are retained during the whole recursive process, and then th location of other search agents is updated according to their location information. Th mathematical model of this process is shown in Equation (13). Grey wolves have the ability to identify the location of potential prey (optimal solution), and the search process mainly depends on the α, β, and δ wolf finish.…”

“…Dong presents a numerical study on the particle flow on a banana screen at the particle scale using the discrete element method (DEM) [12]. The mathematical models relating the looseness coefficient to time are established using the least squares method by Li [13]. The effect of vibration intensity on the screening process is discussed, and the potential error induced in the analysis of a single factor on the screening performance is demonstrated [14].…”
