A Study of Distribution of Natural Radionuclides in Soils and Assessment of Exposure Hazards From Terrestrial -Radiation in the Region of Tsalka (Georgia)
Abstract:Gamma-spectroscopy method has been used to determine the activity concentrations (in Bq kg -1 ) of natural radionuclides such as 238 U, 232 Th, and 40 K in soil samples collected from Tsalka region of south Georgia. Based on which contents of radionuclides in soil (in g kg -1 and ppm) were calculated. In addition, concentrations of artificial radionuclide of 137 Cs were determined, which has shown contamination character of study area. Based on the results of the analysis, some crucial physical values have bee… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
