A Study of Ascorbic Acid Metabolism of Adolescent Children

Abstract: Meyer (1943) also studying preschool children found that a daily intake of 31 mg of ascorbic acid was the marginal level for tissue saturation of the four subjects studied in 1939-40. A daily intake of 23 to 25 mg of ascorbic acid was not sufficient for tissue saturation in the eight, children of the 1940-41 and 1941-42 studies.
