A Structure-Reconfigurable Soft-Switching DC-DC Converter for Wide-Range Applications

Abstract: In this paper, a structure-reconfigurable resonant DC-DC (direct current -direct current) converter is presented. By controlling the state of the auxiliary switch, the converter could change the resonant structure to acquire a high efficiency and wide voltage gain range simultaneously. The characteristics of the LLC (inductor-inductor-capacitor) resonant converter are firstly analyzed. Based on this, through introducing additional resonant elements and adopting the topology morphing method, the proposed conver… Show more

“…As the bridge voltage reaches V p14 = −V Cs f , the primary current I p14 starts to decay. As a result, the current flowing in secondary rectifiers D 2 , D 4 , D 6 and D 8 decays. To overcome this shortfall, the other secondary rectifiers D 1 , D 3 , D 5 , and D 7 also start conducting, clamp all secondary windings to zero voltage.…”

“…The full input voltage is impressed on the equivalent leakage inductor, which increases the input current in the reverse direction. As soon as the primary current reaches to the value equal to the reflected load current, the rectifies D 2 , D 4 , D6 , and D 8 turns OFF, while the rectifiers correspond to the second set of secondary windings i.e., D 1 , D 3 , D 5 , and D 7 continue to conduct. After this mode, the load is powered from the source.…”
