A step by step guide for conducting a systematic review and meta-analysis with simulation data

Abstract: Background The massive abundance of studies relating to tropical medicine and health has increased strikingly over the last few decades. In the field of tropical medicine and health, a well-conducted systematic review and meta-analysis (SR/MA) is considered a feasible solution for keeping clinicians abreast of current evidence-based medicine. Understanding of SR/MA steps is of paramount importance for its conduction. It is not easy to be done as there are obstacles that could face the researcher. … Show more

“…The study was conducted following the accepted methodology recommendations of PRISMA’s (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) checklist for systematic reviews (Additional file 1 : Table S1) [ 27 ]. The steps were done following a guideline, which was published elsewhere [ 28 ]. The protocol of this study was presented in ResearchGate (10.13140/rg.2.2.16654.41289).…”

“…Conducting preliminary research is paramount to 1) ensure the novelty of the research idea; 2) assure that there are enough studies to perform systematic review and meta-analysis; 3) gain a deep understanding of the field of study; 4) collect a wide variety of keywords related to the study topic to help in retrieving relevant studies; and 5) help in defining the inclusion and exclusion criteria ( Tawfik et al, 2019 ). The authors have conducted a preliminary search on Google Scholar and Scopus by using the following keywords: ‘critical factors’ AND ‘just in time’ AND ‘modular construction’ OR ‘modular integrated construction’.…”

“…It is also intended to analyse the topic trend in the past 10 years and the attractiveness level of BIM integration in the SBTool method, facing the two most known BSA schemes-LEED and BREEAM. Therefore, the following main research questions were established: To accurately answer the formulated research questions, a systematic review will be carried out, adapted from Tawfik et al's [34] guide. Figure 1 summarises all the procedure sequences for this study.…”
