A statistical risk assessment model of hazard chain induced by landslide and its application to the Baige landslide

Abstract: Landslides are usually caused by geological processes such as rainstorms or earthquakes and may have a massive impact on human production and life. The hazard chain of landslide-river blockage-outburst flood is the most common hazard chain caused by landslides. A database based on existing landslide cases was established in this paper to investigate the assessment formulas of river blocking risk, dam stability, and peak flood discharge after the dam break. A risk assessment model of the landslide-river blockin… Show more

“…8. This method can accurately determine the disaster range of open-pit mine landslide, which is more accurate and reliable than the method of calculating the maximum slip distance based on empirical formula and the determined the boundary conditions of landslide side edge through investigation and analysis 20 . Using the powerful data processing, spatial analysis and statistical functions of ArcGIS method, the risk evaluation, vulnerability evaluation, risk evaluation and zoning of landslide disasters in the study area can be completed 21,22 , but ArcGIS method can not accurately delineate the scope of landslide disasters.…”
