In supply chain literature, supplier evaluation and selection problem is one of the most studied subjects because of the significant roles of suppliers in terms of the chain's sustainability and profitability. Therefore, it is important for organizations to adopt a systematic way to evaluate and select the best supplier according to their respective criteria in today's competitive environment. Multicriteria decision-making methods provide for this need of organizations because determination of an appropriate supplier selection is a multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problem essentially. Although a lot of applications of these methods for supplier evaluation and selection can be seen in the literature, studies in the health-care sector are insufficient. Hospitals in the health-care sector also have to consider their supplier-related decisions to decrease risks and threads which affect their effectiveness. The aim of this study was to fill this gap by providing different hybrid models for selecting the best supplier for hospitals. Supplier evaluation and selection process start with recognizing the related criteria according to the studies in the literature. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method is deployed to weight the criteria, and suppliers are listed via technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), elimination and choice translating reality English (ELECTRE), grey relational analysis (GRA), and simple additive weighting (SAW) methods. The main aim of this study was to present different hybrid MCDM methods and show their efficiency and consistency with each other. In this study, hybrid multicriteria decision-making models (AHP-TOPSIS, AHP-ELECTRE, AHP-GRA, and AHP-SAW) are presented and compared. The results show that the presented hybrid methods in this study are consistent with each other and give the same ranking for the selection of the best supplier. It can be considered as a useful guideline for hospitals.

Bananas are one of the most produced and consumed fruit crops in the world. However, producers, especially farmers and small businesses, are currently facing many challenges in the market, particularly competitiveness. This article aims to analyze factors that influence the decision-making process of processing banana products for community enterprises. The selection of the best-processed banana products according to the different criteria uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a multi-criteria decision-making support tool. A case study of community enterprises that process banana products in Prachinburi Province, Thailand is presented. The criteria and priorities are considered based on the opinions of the community enterprises. There are five main factors: main raw materials, readiness for production, profitability and marketing channels, storage conditions, and environmental and societal impacts. The alternatives were divided into two cases: unripe and ripe bananas. The results show that the main factor with the highest priority in processing banana products is the readiness for production. For overall results, the banana chip is the best choice to produce if the supply is unripe bananas. If the supply is ripe bananas, the dried banana is the best choice to produce. These results provide a guideline for decision-making in banana product processing, which helps determine the best option for complex problems.

Supplier selection is one of the most essential activities in purchase management and plays a crucial role in the production phase. Supplier selection as a vital step of supply chain management is a multi-criteria decision-making issue. For any organization, the process of selecting the best supplier holds variable multilayered complications involving quantitative and qualitative criteria. This paper tackles the supplier selection problem in a Turkish Textile Company. The present study carries out a novel grey integrated multi-criteria approach for enhancing the supplier procedure within Textile Company with the help of the grey analytical hierarchy process G-AHP model for weighting the set of criteria, and the grey weighted aggregated sum product assessment WASPAS-G model for prioritizing the suppliers. The study starts with reviewing the previous works of multi-criteria decision-making MCDM methods and the list of existing criteria evaluation in supplier selection. Then, the range of criteria is selected based on the company requirements and the experts' interview. In the case study, the consistency rate of the models is tested in order to verify the quality of experts' judgments. The final results affirm that Grey integrated approach could be efficient and far more precise than the existing models for overcoming the supplier selection and evaluation obstacles in the supply chain management.
