A stabilized finite volume element method for solving Poisson–Nernst–Planck equations

Abstract: One difficulty in solving the Poisson-Nernst-Planck (PNP) equations used for studying the ion transport in channel proteins is the possible convectiondominant problem in the Nernst-Planck equations.
