A solution to multi‐objective optimal accommodation of distributed generation problem of power distribution networks: An analytical approach

Abstract: Summary Distributed generation (DG) technologies are considered an integral part of power distribution networks. The desired performance of power distribution networks can be obtained through the optimal accommodation of DG units. This paper proposes an analytical method called Branch Loss Bus Injection Index (BLBII) to solve the multi‐objective optimal accommodation of distributed generation (MO‐OADG) problem of power distribution networks. Four objectives were considered in the optimisation model: energy los… Show more

“…In this optimization method, the optimum location and the size of the SPV array are observed, and then the BSS size with location is determined for accomplishing further reduction in electrical losses and voltage deviation. The authors in [20] have proposed an index to obtain the optimal siting of DGs in EDS. This index is implemented to resolve the multiple problems, including total ELM, ENS, and voltage deviation.…”

“…12,13 DGs can support system voltage, reduce system losses, improve the reliability and security of the system, and relieve the distribution and upgrade of the system. 14 The impact of distributed DG generation on voltage regulation and power loss in distribution systems is discussed in Reference 15. In Reference 16 a technique is presented to evaluate the effect of DG size and layout on losses, reliability, and voltage profiles of distribution grids.…”
