A Software Defect Learning and Analysis Utilizing Regression Method for Quality Software Development

Abstract: The program is a complex object consisting of different units with variable degrees of defects. By predicting the effectiveness and frequency of program defects, program managers can make better use of manpower, cost, and time to obtain better quality assurance. It is always possible to have a set of defects that affect designed and predictable units in order to have close association with the subsidiaries. Most of the current defect prediction rating mechanism is derived from learning the previous project dat… Show more

“…The confusion matrix shows the way a logistic regression model is confused in making predictions and gives an insight of errors being made. Three important parameters in confusion matrix are used to evaluate the logistic regression model such as precision (Pc), recall (Rc) and F1-Score as used in [23][24].…”

“…As the dependency and complexity of software grows, the demands for maintainable and high-quality low-cost software grows with it. However, for reduced maintenance in software operation and software quality improvement to be actualized, there is need for a software defect prediction system [1,2,3]. Having an early detection system in place will enable fast delivery of maintainable software since it will allow for timely correction of the detected faults [4].…”
