A Sociology of Nothing: Understanding the Unmarked

Abstract: Nothing is a sociologically neglected terrain, comprising negatively defined phenomena, such as non--identification, non--participation and non--presence. Nevertheless, these symbolic social objects are created and managed through meaningful social interaction.
