A Simulator for Drones and FANET Management Supporting Multimedia Traffic under Human Mobility

Abstract: In this paper a simulator for the management of a team of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and drones has been proposed. This new network is known as Fly Ad-Hoc Network (FANET), and it is a particular type of Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) but with some specific aspects that allow to provide new services in future generation networks. One of the possible applications is emergency situations or scenario where drones can provide an additional or complementary access networks supporting web services and multimedia … Show more

“…The load balancing (LB) issues are a crucial aspect in many different fields of research, for example in a drone network distributing the traffic among the devices the LB strategy allows to avoid the overloading of the drone in carrying out their tasks 18,19 and, for example, balancing the execution of multi-task. 20 This permits also to better manage the constrained resources of the drones that can perform distributing tasks using approaches like that used in a federated learning strategy 21 exploiting resources prediction that avoids possible bandwidth wastage 22 guaranteeing energy-saving.…”
