“…It is reported that the small size of the PVP-synthesized Pd nanoparticles, suggesting much smaller activation energy for CO oxidation on Pd/alumina (Stara et al 1995). Above characterization results (TEM results) confirm the well-established fact that small Pd nanoparticles with narrow size distribution supported on Al 2 O 3 with high BET surface area are active for lowtemperature CO oxidation (Qu et al 2014). The particle size of supported Pd catalysts obtained from TEM analysis is fairly in agreement with the particle size obtained from CO chemisorption results.…”

“…CO oxidation and selective CO oxidation. It is found that Ag/silica catalysts show excellently high activity in CO oxidation at room temperature [6,9]. Further studies indicated that the incorporation of Al in SBA-15 has positive effect on the structural and textural characteristics of catalysts [4,26].…”

“…There are many factors affecting its catalytic activity; e.g. the size and state of noble metal species [1][2][3][4][5], preparation methods [6][7][8], and pretreatment conditions [9][10][11][12][13]. However, they are often inter-related depending on choice of the support [1].…”

“…SiO 2 /Ag composites have received considerable attention in conductivity, catalytic, adsorption and separation, biomedical and other fields, due to its optical, electrical, magnetic, and catalytic properties [10][11][12][13]. At present, a variety of methods of preparing SiO 2 /Ag composite have been developed, including chemical reduction method, micro-emulsion method, gel-sol method, template method, calcination method, adsorption method, and so on [14][15][16][17][18][19][20].…”
