A simple method to fit the Lanchester’s linear model for Ardennes Champaign

Abstract

For fitting the Lanchester's linear law with the Ardennes Champaign, we derive a simple method to obtain the attrition rate and the tactical factor. Comparing our result with the historical data, we find that our method is reliable with a small relative error. Therefore, our method is applicable to decision· making dUring a hurriedly chang· ing and chaos-communicating combat field.
