A silver self‐assembled monolayer‐decorated polydimethylsiloxane flexible substrate for in situ SERS detection of low‐abundance molecules

Abstract: The preparation of highly sensitive and low cost substrate remains challenging in surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). Here, a simple silver nanoparticle‐modified thin polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) sheet was prepared as a SERS substrate via silicon‐assisted interfacial self‐assembly transfer and Langmuir–Schaefer deposition technique. The influence of the surface coverage on PDMS was investigated and optimized to achieve the maximal signal enhancement. Through the test of rhodamine 6G and 4‐mercaptobenzoi… Show more

“…2(b) that the sol had a visible absorption peak at 683 nm, which is attributed to the plasma single-mode vibration of the Au NBs. The UV absorption peak of the gold or silver sol prepared by the conventional one-step method is concentrated between 400 and 550 nm 22,23 , while the UV absorption peak of Au NBs is located at 683 nm, making the UV absorption peak is red-shifted and more closely matches the excitation source of 785 nm compared to the spherical sol substrate. The reflection spectrum of the solid SERS substrate was shown in Fig.…”

“…The assembly process can be referred to in our previous work. 30 The phase transfer was carried out using the PVP ethanol solution as the intermediate carrier. 10 ml prepared Au@Ag core-shell NPs were centrifuged (2000  g 10 min) and dispersed in the same amount of 1 wt % PVP in ethanol.…”

“…Zhao and co‐workers carried out studies of silver self‐assembled monolayer‐decorated polydimethylsiloxane as a flexible substrate for in situ SERS detection of low‐abundance molecules. They measured thiram and tricyclazole pesticides on the surface of apples, and the results demonstrate that SERS substrates can measure pesticide residues in situ …”
