A silver metal complex as a luminescent probe for enzymatic sensing of glucose in blood plasma and urine

Abstract: In this work, we present a facile preparation of a paper-based glucose assay for rapid, sensitive, and quantitative measurement of glucose in blood plasma and urine. Two copper phosphorescent complexes [Cu(2,9-dimethyl-4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline)(2,6-dimethylphenylisocyanide)2][B(C6H3(CF3)2)4] (Cu1) and [Cu(2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline)(2,6-dimethylphenylisocyanide)2][B(C6H3(CF3)2)4] (Cu2) and a new silver congener [Ag(P3)CNAg(P3)][B(C6H3(CF3)2)4] (Ag3) (P3 = PPh2C6H4-PPh-C6H4PPh2 [bis(o-diphenylphos… Show more

“…The analytical performance of the analytical device was also compared with those of other reported luminescent glucose sensing devices using gel capping (Table 1). [27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34] As shown in Table 1, the proposed method provides detection sensitivity for glucose comparable with those of some reported methods and could meet the requirement for glucose detection in clinical glucose monitoring and the food industry (mM levels).…”

“…The oxygen collision efficiency measurement procedures were similar to those in our previous report. 27 10 mL of Cu4c (1 mM) in DCM was added to the lter paper, and the lms were used for oxygen collision efficiency measurement. The prepared lms were then placed into the Linkam FTIR600 stage, and N 2 (99.999%) and O 2 (99.999%) were mixed at different concentrations via mass ow controllers and passed to a Linkam FTIR600 stage.…”

“…Furthermore, upon excitation of B5 at higher lying electronic states, the RT phosphorescence can be significantly enhanced due to the increased population in the T 1 state via faster rate of S i → T j ( I > 1, j ≥ 1) intersystem crossing (cf. S 1 → T j ( j ≥ 1) [9]. Despite these intriguing and unique photophysical properties, however, exploiting B5 and its numerous congeners in solid state applications such as sensing are scarce [9,10].…”
