A Short Review on Proteomics and its Applications

Abstract: Proteomics is the large scale of study of proteins, particularly their function and structure. Proteomics is an excellent approach for studying changes in metabolism in response to different stressconditions. In the present review focused on different types of techniques for the analysis of expressedproteins. The techniques includes 2-D gel electrophoresis, MALDI-TOF/MS etc., play a vital role forthe analysis of novel proteins and their role in disease maintenance and treatment. The review also concentrated on… Show more

“…In complex pesticide biodegradation, proteomics stands as an important tool, unraveling the patterns, functions, and interactions of proteins [157]. This omics approach not only unravels the identity of potential enzymes and metabolic pathways linked to pesticide degradation but also uncovers the intricate protein pathways activated in response to pesticide-induced damage.…”

“…Isolating germ cells by type (as by STAPUT 63,64 or FACS sorting 65,66 ) or conducting analyses on select developmental stages may serve to reduce background from unwanted cell types. Further, the development of more detailed reference databases 67 and advances in analysis software [68][69][70][71] may reduce these barriers.…”

“…This Special Issue, “Mass Spectrometric Proteomics 2.0”, presents the second volume of a series dedicated to the dissemination of results obtained from the application of MS-based proteomics across different areas. Although not all problems in MS proteomics have been solved, this is currently a mature technique that has prompted the publication of thousands of articles in the biochemical sector to date [ 1 ]. That being said, the question arises as to whether the release of a “new” series on proteomics would make sense.…”
