A severe case of acidosis with concomitant use of avapritinib and metformin requiring emergent hemodialysis

Abstract: Introduction: Avapritinib (Ayvakit), a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), has been recently approved for the treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) who have a platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (PDGFRA) exon 18 mutation.
