A Sensitive Impedimetric Aptasensor Based on Carbon Nanodots Modified Electrode for Detection of 17ß-Estradiol

Abstract: A simple and sensitive aptasensor based on conductive carbon nanodots (CDs) was fabricated for the detection of 17ß-Estradiol (E2). In the present study, the hydrothermal synthesis of carbon nanodots was successfully electrodeposited on a screen-printed electrode (SPE) as a platform for immobilization of 76-mer aptamer probe. The morphology and structure of the nanomaterial were characterized by UV-visible absorption spectra, Fluorescence spectra, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Fourier tran… Show more

“…The procedure was successfully applied to quantify E,E-DNL in QuEChERS extracts from Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) liver tissue with a recovery ranging from 92.3 to 98.8%. Haniphah [198] designed and assembled a simple and sensitive impedimetric aptasensor based on conductive carbon nanodots (CDs) to detect 17b-estradiol (E2). Carbon nanodots were electrodeposited on a screen-printed electrode (SPE), acting as a platform for immobilizing 76-mer aptamer probe.…”

“…Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a sensitive EC technique for evaluating charge transfer processes, such as double-layer capacitance, impedance and the solution resistance within the interface between an electrode and an electrolyte [114]. EIS provides some advantages as a sensing technique; for example, the samples are not destroyed during analysis, and it is simple to operate while providing a large amount of information that is obtained by detailed analysis of the data [115]. For instance, the charge transfer resistance (R CT ) of the Nyquist plot from EIS measurement is obtained from the Randles equivalent circuit that results from fitting the data [116].…”
