A semantic wiki for user training in ePrescribing processes

Abstract: With the number of prescriptions rising nationally each year, it is required that web-based technology will fully embraced in the pharmacy industry as an aid to quality-assuring prescribing processes. Electronic prescribing (ePrescribing) has the ability not only to streamline the prescription writing process, but also to reduce the number of errors that may be incurred with handwritten prescriptions. The adoption of ePrescribing nationwide through an ePrescribing system premises active participation of users … Show more

“…12 articles include descriptions of basic conceptual work for cloud projects, but included no creation of a real system [ 16 , 30 , 35 , 46 , 53 , 54 , 63 , 77 , 88 - 92 ]. If applications are described they are usually in a prototype status [ 1 , 7 , 10 - 13 , 15 , 17 - 22 , 28 , 29 , 31 , 33 , 34 , 39 - 45 , 47 , 48 , 55 , 58 , 59 , 61 - 70 , 72 - 75 , 93 - 101 ]. Successful implementations of cloud systems in healthcare were only described in 13 of the 104 articles [ 9 , 25 , 27 , 32 , 36 - 38 , 51 , 57 , 60 , 71 , 78 , 102 ].…”

“…make a proposal for the usage of such a wiki to serve as a “collective memory” containing material pertinent to user training in healthcare process management, but to the best of our knowledge this has not yet grown beyond the proposal stage. [ 28 ] Kardong-Edgren et al . describe the use of another such “collective memory” wiki – this time for tracking of information and data in a nursing CPR education trial – but the group's final report on the results of the trial does not comment on how efficacious their use of wiki technology was.…”
