In the world, 10% of the world population suffer with some type of disability, however the fast technological development can originate some barriers that these people have to face if they want to access to technology. This is particularly true in the case of visually impaired users, as they require special assistance when they use any computer system and also depend on the audio for navigation tasks. Therefore, this paper is focused on making a prototype of a semantic platform with web accessibility for blind people. We propose a method to interaction with user through voice commands, allowing the direct communication with the platform. The proposed platform will be implemented using Semantic Web tools, because we intend to facilitate the search and retrieval of information in a more efficient way and offer a personalized learning. Also, Google APIs (STT (Speech to Text) and TTS (Text to Speech)) and Raspberry Pi board will be integrated in a speech recognition module.

Abstract. The Swip approach aims at translating into SPARQL queries expressed in natural language exploiting query patterns. In this article, we present the main module of the prototype implementing this approach which entirely relies on SPARQL. All steps of the interpretation process which are carried out in this module are indeed completely performed on RDF triple stores through SPARQL updates. Thus, the implementation gets benefit from SPARQL engine capabilities, which prevent us from worrying about graph manipulation and matching.The purpose of the approach we propose is to provide end-users with a means to query ontology based knowledge bases using natural language (NL) queries and thus hide the complexity of formulating a query expressed in a graph query language such as SPARQL. The process we proposed to interpret NL queries as well as its implementation making an extensive use of SPARQL contribute to the originality of our approach. Section 1 summarizes works and systems sharing our objectives in order to situate our overall approach named Swip (for Semantic Web Interface using Patterns). Section 2 introduces the framework in which the Swip system takes place. Section 3 details first steps of the interpretation process in order to give a precise idea of the implementation. Section 4 discusses the benefits and drawbacks of this approach.
