A selective electrochemical sensor for caffeic acid and photocatalyst for metronidazole drug pollutant - A dual role by rod-like SrV2O6

Abstract: In the present study, well-defined one-dimensional (1D) rod-like strontium vanadate (SrV2O6) was prepared by simple hydrothermal method without using any other surfactants/templates. The successful formation of rod-like SrV2O6 was confirmed by various analytical and spectroscopic techniques. Interestingly, for the first time the dual role of as-prepared rod-like SrV2O6 were employed as an electrochemical sensor for the detection of caffeic acid (CA) as well as visible light active photocatalyst for the degrada… Show more

“…As it can be concluded from Table 4, the proposed electrochemical sensor is superior in almost every aspect to most of those ever fabricated. [38][39][40][41][42][43] This might be attributed to the application of the MIP/GNW/rGO hybrid nanocomposite on the SPCE electrode.…”

“…For these troubles, totally detoxification of MP into the aqueous and land areas is crucial role to the researchers. For degradation system, photocatalysis method is most adoptable route [3]. During the photocatalytic reaction make hydroxyl radicals (•OH.)…”

“…But, the aforementioned techniques have some major problems such as high cost and produce secondary hazardous by-products. However, photocatalysis route could provide simple, green and low cost which degrades toxic pollutants into less toxic products [3,4].…”
