Background: Adolescents are more likely than adults to engage in risky health behaviors such as smoking, drinking, and sexual activity. Community development plays a role in reducing adolescents’ personal, cognitive, and social skill deficits. A review of the effectiveness of community-development interventions is required to advance our understanding of how the intervention reduce health risk behaviors. This study analyze type and effectiveness of adolescents’ community development programs reduce multiple health risk behaviors among adolescents. Methods: This scoping review used the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR). With a date range of 2015–2021, searches were conducted in PubMed, EBSCO, and ProQuest using keywords (((Life skill education) OR (community development)) AND ((health risk behavior) OR (risk behavior)) AND ((adolescent) OR (adolescence) OR (teenagers) OR (teens) OR (youth))). After title and abstract checking, full-text retrieval, and data extraction, data were synthesized based on the main objectives. The most important data were tabulated. Results: Most studies showed that community development–based interventions effectively reduce adolescents’ health risk behaviors, including risky sexual behaviors, drug and alcohol use. Interventions were carried out in schools, places of worship, and communities, involving adolescents, educational institutions, health professionals, religious leaders, and families. Conclusion: This review can assist community health nurses, policymakers, researchers, and teachers in developing and implementing effective community-development programs that ensure knowledge, attitudes, and skills transfer to reduce health risk behaviors.

AimThe increase in empty-nest elderly individuals with chronic diseases poses a major challenge to the provision of public health services in China. Telenursing can effectively relieve the pressure of public health services to a certain extent. This study aims to explore the telenursing needs of empty-nest elderly individuals with chronic diseases based on the Kano model to provide references for improving the quality of telenursing.MethodsParticipants were selected from five rural communities and five urban communities in Yangzhou and Nantong, Jiangsu Province, China. A total of 348 empty-nest elderly individuals with chronic diseases were included. The participants received a sociodemographic characteristics questionnaire, and their telenursing needs were surveyed and analyzed based on the Kano model.ResultsOf the 15 quality attributes evaluated by the participants, 3 telenursing services were categorized as “must-be quality”, 5 were categorized as “one-dimensional quality”, 5 were categorized as “attractive quality”, and 2 were categorized as “indifferent quality”. The proportion of individuals who desired telenursing services ranged from 47.41 to 83.62%, the better values (satisfaction) ranged from 35.29–83.98%, and the worse values (dissatisfaction) ranged from 10.91 to 63.27%. There were no significant differences in any items of telenursing needs for between participants in Yangzhou and Nantong (all P > 0.05), and there were also no significant differences in all items between rural and urban communities (all P > 0.05).ConclusionBased on the Kano model, it was found that empty-nest elderly individuals with chronic diseases had a positive attitude toward telenursing and that they had different levels of need for different telenursing services. These findings provided a theoretical basis for medical decision-makers to formulate medical policies and provided a scientific foundation for nursing managers to improve telenursing services to meet the needs of the empty-nest elderly individuals with chronic diseases.

Background This study sought to determine whether uric acid levels have a relationship with and can potentially be used as a prognosis for coronary heart disease (CHD) biomarkers using a scoping review. Methods This study was conducted following Arksey and O’Malley’s scoping review framework. It was reported as obeying the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis for Scoping Review (PRISMA-ScR). The subject was extensively searched for in PubMed, CINAHL, and ScienceDirect. The inclusion criteria in the study were that the sources were journal articles written in English and were available in full text. The age of the subject in the item is the elderly population to capture the relationship between uric acid levels and the prognosis of CHD. The publication time limit was 2010 to 2020. The study was analyzed using thematic analysis. Results We identified 592 studies in our initial search, and 21 studies with a cohort design were included in this study’s analysis. The majority of the evidence suggests an independent correlation with a poor prognosis of CHD in the elderly population. The prognosis of gout includes the prognosis of clinical outcome, severity, and mortality, all of which influence the prognosis value, which becomes a marker. Conclusion Uric acid levels have been identified as a potential biomarker for poor CHD prognosis. Nurses and other healthcare workers should learn how to control poor CHD prognosis.
