MICE tourism has received the attention and support from relevant departments and tourism industry with the growth rate of recent years. In this paper, the dynamics mechanism of urban exhibition tourism development is studied by using high-performance computing, and the dynamics mechanism model of exhibition tourism is constructed. To improve the performance, the solution constructed in the adaptive joint algorithm is used as the initial solution, and then the initial solution is improved using the method proposed by the new neighborhood strategy. It promotes the development of MICE tourism and urban MICE tourism by combining research on theoretical aspects related to tourism development, such as the relationship between tourism development and exhibition, and the development dynamics and stages of MICE tourism. The research results show that, in the assessment of the development mechanism of urban MICE tourism, tourism resources, economic, and policy factors have a relatively large weight, among which the weight coefficient of tourism resources factor is 0.2411. It can be seen that the development power of MICE tourism should start from tourism resources, so that the development power mechanism of urban MICE tourism can be optimized and improved, which not only provides new methods and new ideas for the transformation and upgrading of tourism industry but also promotes tourism enterprises and related departments to creatively develop tourism resources and design competitive tourism products, so as to improve the supply quality of MICE tourism, and then continuously promote the process of supply-side reform of MICE tourism.

PurposeThe e-commerce boom presents new challenges for last-mile delivery (LMD), which may be mitigated by new delivery technologies. This paper evaluates the impact of mobile parcel lockers (MPL) on costs and CO2 equivalent (CO2e) emissions in existing LMD networks, which include home delivery and shipments to stationary parcel lockers.Design/methodology/approachTo describe customers’ preferences, we design a multinomial logit model based on recipients’ travel distance to pick-up locations and availability at home. Based on route cost estimation, we define the operating costs for MPLs. We devise a mathematical model with binary decision variables to optimize the location of MPLs.Findings Our study demonstrates that integrating MPLs leads to additional cost savings of 8.7% and extra CO2e emissions savings of up to 5.4%. Our analysis of several regional clusters suggests that MPLs yield benefits in highly populous cities but may result in additional emissions in more rural areas where recipients drive longer distances to pick-ups.Originality/valueThis paper designs a suitable operating model for MPLs and demonstrates environmental and economic savings. Moreover, it adds recipients’ availability at home to receive parcels improving the accuracy of stochastic demand. In addition, MPLs are evaluated in the context of several regional clusters ranging from large cities to rural areas. Thus, we provide managerial guidance to logistics service providers how and where to deploy MPLs.

In recent years, with the development of information technology and the promotion of low-carbon concept, bike-sharing has gradually emerged in Chinese cities and become one of the daily travel modes for residents. Meanwhile, the research on bike-sharing travel behavior has become a hot topic in the field of urban transportation planning. However, due to the language barrier, relevant Chinese language literature is often neglected in the existing studies. To fill this gap, this paper provided a review of the Chinese literature that examines bike-sharing travel behaviors. Through bibliometric analysis, we found that recent papers in this area focused on the spatiotemporal characteristics, influencing factors and demand forecasting of bike-sharing trips. Further, we summarized the new data and methods adopted and the main findings obtained in these researches. In response to the current status of relevant studies, we concluded our insights on planning for a low-carbon cycling environment. Finally, we suggest that future directions should include the mining of socio-economic attributes of individual bike-sharing users, the influence of humanistic perception factors on bike-sharing trips, and the bike-sharing travel behavior in the post-pandemic era in China.
