A Scalable Methylamine Gas Healing Strategy for High‐Efficiency Inorganic Perovskite Solar Cells

Abstract: An easy and scalable methylamine (MA) gas healing method was realized for inorganic cesium-based perovskite (CsPbX 3 )l ayers by incorporating ac ertain amount of MAX (X = IorBr) initiators into the raw film. It was found that the excess MAX accelerated the absorption of the MA gas into the CsPbX 3 film and quickly turned it into al iquid intermediate phase.T hrough the healing process, ahighly uniform and highly crystalline CsPbX 3 film with enhanced photovoltaic performance was obtained. Moreover,t he chemica… Show more

“…The rapid development of solar and wind as renewable energy sources has stimulated intense research effort for the development of a sustainable and environmentally‐friendly method to mitigate the intermittency of solar and wind power production . Among the several promising energy storage techniques, such as regenerative fuel cells with hydrogen storage, superconducting magnetic energy storage, lithium ion batteries and supercapacitors, redox flow batteries (RFBs) store energy in the flow liquid electrolyte, decoupling energy density and power density .…”

“…Very small droplets can be observed on the surface that indicate a formed liquid phase of the methylamine and PbI 2 complex. [16][17][18] This intermediate phase is one of the advantages of the methylamine process, since the resulting film becomes very smooth, independent of the roughness of the initial precursor layer of PbI 2 , as shown by the SEM images in Figure S2. After 15 seconds, a 600 mbar air flow for 1 minutes removes the methylamine gas from the tube.…”

“…Pang and co‐workers successfully prepared high‐quality all‐inorganic perovskite using both the MAX additive and an MA gas healing method. [ 59 ] They incorporated a certain amount of MAX into the raw CsPbX 3 film to obtain the CsPbI 2 Br·0.5MAX film, which was then exposed to MA gas to form a transparent and uniform intermediate phase. The subsequent thermal annealing removed the MAI additive and a high‐quality phase‐pure inorganic perovskite thin film is then obtained.…”
