A Robust P2P Information Sharing System and its Application to Communication Support in Natural Disasters

Abstract: To provide the stable and continuous network services in cases of large-scale natural disasters, computers must use extremely limited network and computational resources effectively without imposing additional administrative burdens. The authors propose a P2P Information Sharing System for affected areas based on our proposed structured P2P network called the Well-distribution Algorithm for an Overlay Network (WAON). By applying the WAON framework, the system configures the P2P network autonomously using the r… Show more

“…The maximum amount of communication data necessary for producing a partial aggregation result is O(log N ) because the amount of communication data required for searching for an object on a structured p2p network is O(log N ), where N represents the number of nodes on the network. Especially, when the communication topology among nodes is uniform, the amount of communication data required for making partial aggregation results is nearly equal to O (1). Therefore, the amount of communication data required for making a routing table is nearly equal to O(log N ).…”

“…To improve and advance the relationship between the DS and the RS, Symbiotic Computing effectively works to create autonomy and sociality in the DS by the mutual understanding. The Concept of the Symbiotic Computing is applied to various fields and applications such as an agent based middleware for ubiquitous computing applications (Suganuma, Takahashi, & Shiratori, 2010), a posture recognition application (Manage, & Sugawara, 2011), and an information sharing system in the disasters (Oide, Takahashi, Takeda, & Suganuma, 2013).…”
