Abstract: Bacterial peptidoglycan (PGN) constituent – muramyl dipeptide (MDP) and its congeners possess immuno-adjuvant activity, and find their applications in vaccines to potentiate the immune response of antigens. The molecule confers non-specific resistance to pathogenic infections and defense against tumors.
