“…A robust bis-rhodium(I) complex of π-extended planar, anti-aromatic meso -pentafluorophenyl-β,β-phenylene-bridged hexaphyrin [1.0.1.0.1.0], rosarin 127 , was synthesized in 60% yield from the corresponding free-base ( Figure 4 ). Both the ligand and the bis-Rh(I) complex show uv-vis spectra in CH 2 Cl 2 with broad bands between 400–700 nm [ 98 ].…”

“…In a naphthorosarin rhodium complex 364.5 , prepared by Sessler, Lee and co-workers, the macrocycle maintained its planarity, but the two rhodium ions reside on opposite sides of the molecular plane, resulting in inherent chirality. 691 The rhodium(I)–rhodium(I) distance was found to be 3.143 Å. The UV–vis absorption spectrum of 364.5 showed multiple absorption bands between 416 and 496 nm, along with bands at 623 and 653 nm, which was distinct to that of the free base 364.2a .…”

“…Sessler, Lee and co-workers 59 synthesized the bis-rhodium( i ) complex 67 by reacting 60 with Rh 2 Cl 2 (CO) 4 in dichloromethane at room temperature, as shown in Scheme 15. This complex 67 is the first example of a metal complex of a conformationally rigid naphthorosarin.…”
