A Review on Various Routing Protocol Designing Features for Flying Ad Hoc Networks

Abstract: Flying Ad Hoc Network is derived from the mobile ad hoc network and it consists of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) for high-speed communication. Flying Ad Hoc Network has high mobility, and the users can communicate without the help of human intervention. Due to high mobility in FANET, network performance is to be concentrated more. Designing a routing protocol is the most important metric for continuous monitoring, analyzing the network performance, and improve efficient network communication. Design of routin… Show more

“…For instance, geographic position mobility-oriented routing (GPMOR) utilizes a prediction algorithm in order to designate the next forwarding UAV based on a Gauss-Markov mobility model [437]. In addition to the Generic algorithms, further QoS algorithms might be investigated by leveraging hybrid routing protocols to find the best path [438]. Delay is another important factor that affects the QoS.…”

“…The routing phase is used to find the efficient path by using an artificial bee colony algorithm on the internet of unmanned aerial vehicles (Ananthi and Subha Hency Jose, 2021, 2022; Jacob and Ebby Darney, 2021; Haoxiang and Smys Smys, 2020; Ananthi and Jose, 2021) (IoUAV). In the routing phase, unmanned aerial vehicles search the shortest route by using an artificial bee colony algorithm.…”

“…Therefore, this issue must be considered when designing a routing scheme for this network 21 , 22 . The most common routing protocols are static routing 23 , 24 , proactive routing 23 , 24 , reactive routing 23 , 24 , hybrid routing 25 , 26 , geographical routing 23 , 24 , and multi-path routing 25 , 27 . The performance of a routing protocol depends on selecting the optimal route, which can be calculated based on various criteria, for example, speed, energy, link lifetime, network traffic, delay, link quality, and movement direction 25 , 28 .…”
