A Review on the Potential Species of the Zingiberaceae Family with Anti-viral Efficacy Towards Enveloped Viruses

Abstract: Natural products are a great wellspring of biodiversity for finding novel antivirals, exposing new interactions between structure and operation and creating successful defensive or remedial methodologies against viral diseases. The members of Zingiberaceae traditional plant and herbal products have robust anti-viral action, and their findings will further lead to the production of derivatives and therapeutic. Additionally, it highlights the insight of utilizing these phytoextracts or their constituent compound… Show more

“…Due to the production of "staphyloxanthin" in all medium, S. aureus often forms colonies that are golden and yellow in hue. S. aureus occasionally creates pink colonies as a result of the hydrolysis of the chromogenic substrate for -glucosidase, and it occasionally develops unique green colonies as a result of the synthesis of -glucosidase (Perry et al, 2004;Perry & Freydière, 2007;Balaji et al, 2022).…”

“…Plants are a valuable source of a wide range of bioactive chemicals, frequently recommended as the medicine of choice due to their low cost and lack of negative side effects. Indeed, 80% of the population relies on herbal drugs and supplements for their primary healthcare needs (6)(7)(8). In recent decades, approximately half of all pharmaceutical medications have been generated directly or indirectly from the active parts of medicinal plants, putting them at the forefront of drug research initiatives (9,10).…”

“…Colon cancer, particularly, is at high risk in the population because it is characteristically enhanced by several lifestyle modifications [ 4 ]. Several populations changed their traditional food habits and mainly depend on fat-rich foods nowadays [ 5 , 6 ]. A high proportion of red meat, beverages, sugar-rich diets, and fewer vegetables in food preparations increases the chances of colon cancer.…”

“…On another side, physical training and exercise have been shown to prevent or inhibit malignancies in different types of cancers, including proximal and distal colon, endometrial, prostate, breast, lung, gastroesophageal, renal, and pancreatic cancer [ 3 ]. Exercise and the associated secreting molecules disturb the growth of malignancies by reducing inflammation and inhibiting the cancer-signaling pathways [ 1 , 5 ]. Several studies showed that exercise decreases the mitogenic signals based on different animal models.…”
