“…Among them, the glue method is the most commonly used because of its ease of operation and universality. 49 Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), polyacrylonitrile (PAN), and Nafion have been employed as binders to prepare SPME coatings. PAN is more preferred to prepare SPME fibers for the enrichment of polar analytes, while PDMS is used for the fabrication of SPME fiber to boost the enrichment efficiencies of nonpolar or weak polar analytes.…”

“…For the adsorptive coatings, their pore structure and functional groups are closely related to the enrichment effect. This is instructive for the preparation of high-performance coatings based on a clarified extraction mechanism. Most of the adsorbents and some customized absorptive materials are powders, and how to transform these powders into ideal SPME coatings is another key issue. A fabrication method with less influence on the microstructure of the coating material is desired. It will be better if the fabrication method is universal.…”

“…Solid-phase extraction (SPE) is commonly used to enrich PCBs and PAHs before analysis because it requires low amount of solvents and allows good sample enrichment (Simsek et al 2021). Other similar methods have been applied for the same purpose, such as solid-phase microextraction (SPME) (Baktash andBagheri, 2017, Domínguez et al 2018;Omarova et al 2022) and stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) (Tankiewicz et al 2011;Xiao et al 2016). In addition, several sorbent materials (Nouri et al 2020) with increasing selectivity and performing properties have been used such as hypercrosslinked polymers (Li et al 2021), gold nanoparticles (Gutiérrez-Serpa et al 2017Pellicer-Castell et al 2022), graphene oxide composites (Peng et al 2022;Sheng et al 2021;Song et al 2022), and aerogels (Sun et al 2022).…”

“…23 Owing to a large surface area, high thermal stability, uniform cavity, permanent nanoscale porosity and adjustable structural characteristics, MOFs have attracted widespread attention. [24][25][26][27][28] ZIF-8 is a kind of MOF assembled from transition metal zinc ions and 2-methylimidazole organic ligands in an appropriate solvent 29,30 and has excellent properties of zeolite and porous membranes. The advantages of ZIF-8 include a large surface area, good water stability, high thermal stability and hydrophobic micropores, 31,32 making it suitable as a sorbent for enriching trace compounds from water samples.…”
