“…P. matricarioides is included in a very large and widespread family of flowering plants that grow for ornamental purposes [8], but the family also represents a certain economic importance due to the provision of products such as cooking oils, lettuce, sunflower seeds, artichokes, sweetening agents, coffee substitutes and herbal teas [9]. In addition, many species possess medicinal properties, including antioxidant [10], antiparasitic [11], anticancer [12] and hepatoprotective [13]. In particular, the antidiarrheal, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects of extracts have been demonstrated and correlated with some active common phytochemicals such as phenolic compounds, tannins, flavonoids, lactonic compounds, triterpenes or steroids, terpenes and organic acids [6,14,15].…”

“…Natural phytochemicals, promising antitumor agents, have attracted researchers' attention. Sesquiterpene lactones, natural bioactive compounds, have been shown to possess antitumor and anti-inflammatory potential [31,32]. Elephantopus scaber, a Chinese herbal medicine, is widely applied to treat a variety of diseases, such as diabetes, hepatitis, rheumatism, and infection [32,33].…”

“…Among them, more and more traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) which have anti-tumor properties have been discovered and investigated. [9][10][11][12] Huaier, the fruiting body of Trametes robiniophila Murr, is a kind of light-tawny mushroom parasitic on the boles of locust trees. 13 According to the records of TCM, Huaier is usually used as an anti-inflammatory.…”
